Chelsea Leave Out Cole Palmer and Ben Chilwell from Conference League Squad

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Ben Chilwell are among four senior players excluded from the club’s 25-man squad for the Conference League. Palmer, alongside Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana, has been left out to manage his workload in what could be an 80-match season for the Blues. Both Lavia and Fofana are still recovering from long-term injuries.

Manager Enzo Maresca has decided to rest key players like Palmer for the league phase, with a potential return for the knockout stages in February. Young talents Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka, and striker Marc Guiu have been selected in their place to spread minutes among fringe players.

However, Ben Chilwell’s omission signals his uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. Maresca has reportedly told the England defender he no longer has a role in the squad, with Chilwell being offered to other Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window. There are also rumors linking him to a move to Turkey, where the transfer window is still open.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have left defenders Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon out of their Europa League squad, naming only 23 players due to a lack of club-trained options.
