Channels TV has distanced itself from a deepfake video circulating online involving the Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, which was reportedly used by scammers to promote fraudulent investment schemes.
In a statement shared on its social media handle, Channels TV clarified that the deepfake video was doctored from an episode of its programme, “Lunchtime Politics,” and manipulated to give credibility to fraudulent activities. The news platform emphasized that it does not endorse any investment schemes and reaffirmed its commitment to journalistic integrity and ethical reporting.
