Carlos Tevez Hospitalized After Experiencing Chest Pains

Former Argentina international and current Independiente head coach Carlos Tevez has been hospitalized in Buenos Aires after suffering from chest pains.

Tevez, renowned for his stints with top English clubs Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham, was admitted to the Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro on Tuesday. According to reports, the 40-year-old will undergo medical tests and will remain in the hospital until further evaluation is completed.

Independiente, Tevez’s current club, issued a statement affirming that initial tests conducted at the hospital were “satisfactory.” However, as a precautionary measure, Tevez will continue to receive medical attention until his condition is thoroughly assessed.

Tevez assumed the role of head coach at Independiente in August 2023, marking a transition from his illustrious playing career to a managerial role. Prior to his tenure with Independiente, Tevez briefly served as the coach of Rosario Central. His retirement as a player in June 2022 followed his final spell with Boca Juniors, where he left an indelible mark on Argentine football.

Throughout his career, Tevez amassed 201 appearances in the Premier League, showcasing his exceptional talent by scoring 84 goals. His contributions played a pivotal role in securing Premier League titles for both Manchester United (2007-08 and 2008-09) and Manchester City (2011-12).
