Carlos Alcaraz Advances to Miami Open Quarter-finals

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz continued his impressive run at the Miami Open, securing a straight-sets victory over Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti to reach the quarter-finals.

The 20-year-old Spaniard displayed his prowess on the court, defeating Musetti with a commanding scoreline of 6-3, 6-3. Alcaraz now sets his sights on a challenging encounter against Bulgarian 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov in the next round, who advanced by overcoming Poland’s 2021 champion Hubert Hurkacz in a thrilling three-set battle.

Meanwhile, Italian Jannik Sinner and Russia’s Daniil Medvedev also advanced to the quarter-finals. Sinner, the Australian Open champion, demonstrated his skill with a confident 6-4, 6-3 victory over Australian Christopher O’Connell. He will face Czech Tomas Machac in the quarter-finals after Machac’s impressive win over Matteo Arnaldi.

Medvedev, a formidable force on the court, secured his spot in the next round with a hard-fought victory against German Dominik Koepfer. The Russian triumphed in a tight first-set tiebreak before dominating the second set to claim a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 win. He will now face 22nd seed Nicolas Jarry, who defeated Norwegian world number eight Casper Ruud.

Alcaraz, who recently clinched the Indian Wells title, is aiming to add another prestigious trophy to his collection by completing the Sunshine Double – winning both the Indian Wells and Miami Open titles in the same season.
