American rapper Cardi B has urged for a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Since the conflict began on October 7, thousands have been killed and many displaced. Cardi B has asked for U.S. intervention and stated she would only endorse a presidential candidate who helps achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
During a recent social media interaction with fans, Cardi B expressed, “I want a ceasefire. I want a peaceful treaty between Palestine and Israel. I want innocent people to stop dying, that’s all I want. If that can happen, I’ll support anybody.”
Previously, Cardi B told Rolling Stone in May that she wouldn’t vote in the upcoming November election if the candidates were incumbent President Joe Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump.
However, President Joe Biden has stepped down as the Democratic Party candidate, endorsing his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the party’s flagbearer. Cardi B welcomed this development on social media, saying she anticipated it.
