Grammy-winning Nigerian sensation, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has issued a response to recent remarks made by fellow musician Brymo, seemingly dismissing Brymo’s assertions of musical superiority.
In a recent interview, Brymo stirred controversy by proclaiming himself as the epitome of musical excellence on the continent, asserting that Burna Boy pales in comparison to his vocal and songwriting prowess.
Burna Boy, however, wasted no time in addressing Brymo’s statements, attributing them to mere attempts at garnering attention. He countered Brymo’s claims by suggesting that Brymo’s style of music, characterized by what he termed “Yoruba proverb music,” is better suited for Fuji legends like K1 De Ultimate and Saheed Osupa.
Taking to his Instagram story, Burna Boy expressed his sentiments, stating, “At this point, they do and say anything to get at the king. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us. When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”
The exchange between Burna Boy and Brymo has sparked conversations within the Nigerian music industry, with fans and observers weighing in on the debate surrounding musical prowess and individual artistry.
