Burna Boy Achieves Two Billion Streams in the UK, Makes History

Nigerian afrobeats sensation Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artist to reach two billion streams in the United Kingdom. During his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, Burna Boy was honored with a Brit plaque recognizing this remarkable achievement.

Just weeks prior, Burna Boy received a Brit plaque for reaching one billion streams at another sold-out show at the London Stadium. Upon receiving the Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of fighting for one’s accomplishments.

“Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right,” Burna Boy remarked. When assured that he already possessed the plaque, Burna Boy insisted, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”

Burna Boy’s milestone underscores his global impact and dominance in the music industry, solidifying his position as a trailblazer in afrobeats on the international stage.
