Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from the England squad for Sunday’s Nations League match against Finland after suffering a right leg injury during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Greece. The 23-year-old winger, who has been a key player for Arsenal this season with three goals in 10 appearances, will return to his club for further assessment.
Saka was substituted early in the second half against Greece after picking up the knock, and his availability for Arsenal’s upcoming fixture against Bournemouth on 19 October remains uncertain.
In addition, Curtis Jones, the Liverpool midfielder who was added to the England squad earlier in the week, has also withdrawn due to a personal commitment.
On a more positive note, Harry Kane and Jack Grealish returned to training on Saturday after recovering from minor injuries that kept them out of the Greece game. The 22-man England squad will travel to Helsinki on Saturday to prepare for Sunday’s 17:00 BST kick-off.
England currently sit second in League B Group 2 with six points from three matches as they look to secure a vital win in their Nations League campaign.
