Bukayo Saka Suffers Injury in England’s 2-1 Loss to Greece at Wembley

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka sustained an injury to his right leg during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley on Thursday. The 23-year-old winger was replaced by Chelsea’s Noni Madueke in the 51st minute after appearing to struggle with discomfort in his leg.

Saka was seen stretching and holding the back of his right leg before sitting down on the pitch, just after Greece took the lead through Vangelis Pavlidis. Interim England head coach Lee Carsley commented on the situation, saying, “He’s being assessed. Obviously in the build-up to the first goal, you can see he felt something in his leg.”

This injury adds to England’s existing problems, with Harry Kane and Jack Grealish already sidelined, although both are expected to be fit for Sunday’s fixture against Finland.

For Arsenal, the potential loss of Saka is a significant blow, particularly as they are already dealing with the absence of captain Martin Odegaard, who suffered an ankle injury while playing for Norway in September. Arsenal will be hoping for positive news ahead of their Premier League return on 19 October, when they face Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium.
