A yet-to-be-ascertained number of individuals have been trapped following a building collapse near the Ochanja market in Onitsha, Anambra State. The incident occurred at approximately 8 pm on Monday, with the building, intended to serve as a market upon completion, giving way while some workers were still inside.
The collapse has sparked panic in the vicinity, prompting efforts from passers-by and residents to rescue those trapped beneath the rubble. As of the latest update, one fatality has been reported, and two others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Rescue operations are underway to extricate any remaining victims from the debris.
