Britain’s Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter, and Harriet Dart all faced defeats in the quarter-finals at Eastbourne.
Emma Raducanu struggled in challenging conditions, losing 6-2 6-2 to Russian sixth seed Daria Kasatkina. Katie Boulter, aiming for her second grass-court title this month after her victory in Nottingham, fell 6-1 7-6 (7-0) to Italian third seed Jasmine Paolini. Harriet Dart was defeated 6-2 6-1 by Canadian Leylah Fernandez in a match lasting 67 minutes.
This year’s tournament marked the first time since 1978 that three British women reached the quarter-finals at Eastbourne.
In the men’s event, Britain’s Billy Harris celebrated a milestone by reaching his first ATP Tour semi-final. Harris triumphed over Italian Flavio Cobolli with a 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 victory.
