British Teams Await Europa League and Europa Conference League Draws

Five British football clubs, including Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton, Rangers, and Aston Villa, are eagerly anticipating the draws for the UEFA Europa League and Europa Conference League last-16 rounds, scheduled to take place on Friday.

Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton, and Rangers find themselves in the Europa League draw, set to commence at 11:00 GMT, while Aston Villa awaits the Europa Conference League draw, starting from 12:00 GMT. All five clubs, being seeded, are slated to play the first leg away on Thursday, 7 March, followed by the second leg at home on 14 March.

The draws, set to unfold at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, will feature the group-stage winners and knockout round play-off victors from each competition. Notably, teams from the same country cannot be pitted against each other at this stage, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the proceedings.

The successful sides from the last-16 ties will progress to the quarter-finals slated for April, heightening the stakes for the participating clubs.

Liverpool, despite losing two away games in Group E, secured their spot at the top, while West Ham and Brighton impressed with dominant performances in Group A and Group B, respectively. Rangers, led by their impressive victories in Group C, also secured a top spot. Aston Villa’s commendable campaign saw them emerge as group winners in the Europa Conference League.

The draws will not only determine the immediate opponents for these British clubs but also set the stage for potential matchups against formidable European counterparts.

With the finals of the Europa League and Europa Conference League scheduled for May, the anticipation continues to build as football enthusiasts await the unveiling of the paths that lie ahead for these British teams on their European journeys.
