Bobrisky Fails to Meet Bail Conditions Following EFCC Detention

Popular and polarizing figure Idris Okuneye, widely recognized as Bobrisky, finds himself unable to fulfill the bail requirements set by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky was apprehended by the Lagos State Command of the EFCC on Wednesday on charges related to the mutilation, abuse, and spraying of naira notes. EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed on Thursday that “he has been granted administrative bail but has yet to meet bail conditions.”

The EFCC, through a statement on its official platform on Thursday, elaborated on the circumstances leading to Bobrisky’s detention. According to the commission, Bobrisky was summoned following a video report depicting him openly flaunting and spraying large sums of new naira notes at the premiere of the movie “Ajakaju,” produced by Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao, at Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, on March 24, 2024.

Further investigations by the EFCC revealed that Bobrisky had allegedly engaged in similar acts of currency abuse at various other event centers and gatherings on multiple occasions.
