Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, has cast doubt on the possibility of a reunion for the iconic Nigerian music group, Plantashun Boiz, which he was a part of alongside 2Face (2Baba) and Faze.
The once-dominant trio in the late 1990s to the mid-2000s, Plantashun Boiz, left an indelible mark on the Nigerian music scene. However, since their split in 2004, with a brief reunion in 2007, prospects for a lasting reconciliation have dwindled.
In a recent interview with Channels TV, Blackface expressed skepticism regarding the likelihood of a reunion, citing the lack of initiative from the members to come together and discuss the way forward.
“I don’t see that happening,” Blackface stated unequivocally, emphasizing that if a reunion were feasible, the members would have already convened to chart a path forward. He emphasized, “I don’t want to cajole someone into doing what they don’t want to do.”
