Hazel Oyeze Onou, widely known as Whitemoney and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 6, has issued a public apology following the backlash over his controversial comments about women.
Whitemoney faced criticism after insinuating that a man’s financial status determines a woman’s league. The remarks drew ire, particularly from former Big Brother Naija housemate Doyin and actress Victoria Inyama.
The reality star’s comments fueled additional controversy when he berated Doyin on the Honest Bunch podcast, escalating the outrage online.
However, succumbing to the pressure and criticism, Whitemoney has now apologized to those offended by his statements, emphasizing that he did not intend to demean women. In his apology, he clarified, “I will never slander women, I will never talk bad against women. I was raised by women, I love women, my team is filled with women, and I don’t have anything against women.”
Expressing regret for any hurt caused, Whitemoney explained, “So, I’m sorry to all the women who feel insulted, I didn’t mean to insult anybody intentionally. I’m not above mistakes, I’m not perfect. Thank you very much, let love lead.”
