Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has sparked controversy after responding to claims made by Ilebaye, the Season 8 winner, regarding the receipt of her full prize money.
Phyna’s reaction comes on the heels of Ilebaye’s revelation that she received her prize money in its entirety, contrary to Phyna’s earlier allegations of prize withholding by the organizers.
Taking to her social media platform, Phyna implied that Ilebaye’s disclosure broke gender norms by seemingly suggesting that women contestants receive their full rewards, insinuating disparities in prize distribution.
Asserting her stance, Phyna emphasized her unwavering demand for the balance of her winnings, stressing the effort she exerted throughout the 72-day duration of the show to earn her rightful rewards.
In a statement on her social media handle, Phyna expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, “Them girls take a chill pill. I’m happy y’all got your money in full according to you, seems I’m being cheated on then. Women supporting women in the mud.”
She further underscored her stance on the matter, highlighting her belief in receiving compensation commensurate with her contributions during the reality show. Phyna’s statement encapsulated her resolve, stating, “I believe I should at least get what I worked so hard for 72 days.
