Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna and a former winner of the Big Brother Naija reality show, narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt in Delta State. She recounted the harrowing experience in a post shared on her official social media account.
According to Phyna’s narrative, the incident occurred while she was traveling in a convoy in Delta State. A minor accident caused one of the vehicles in the convoy to drift off the road, prompting a stop for assessment. As it was getting late, Phyna and another vehicle decided to continue their journey.
However, their progress was abruptly interrupted when kidnappers attacked the convoy, hijacking four cars ahead of the one Phyna was in and abducting their occupants. The perpetrators left the cars empty in the middle of the road after seizing the passengers.
Phyna expressed shock and fear at witnessing the brazen kidnapping, describing how other motorists reacted by turning their vehicles around and driving in the opposite direction to evade the danger.
The reality star’s close call with abduction highlights the prevalence of security challenges in certain regions of Nigeria and serves as a reminder of the risks faced by travelers, even in broad daylight. Despite the terrifying ordeal, Phyna emerged unscathed, grateful to have avoided becoming a victim of the criminal attack.
