Bayer Leverkusen Maintain Bundesliga Lead with Victory Over Wolfsburg

Bayer Leverkusen continued their dominant run in the Bundesliga, maintaining their 10-point lead at the top of the table with a hard-fought victory against 10-man Wolfsburg.

The visitors’ task became significantly more challenging after Moritz Jenz was shown a red card in the 28th minute, reducing Wolfsburg to 10 men.

Leverkusen capitalized on their numerical advantage, taking the lead eight minutes later when former Southampton and Burnley forward Nathan Tella headed in a well-delivered cross.

As the match approached its conclusion, Leverkusen secured the win with a goal from Florian Wirtz, who calmly finished Exequiel Palacios’ pass to make it 2-0 in the 86th minute.

The victory marked Leverkusen’s sixth consecutive win under the guidance of manager Xabi Alonso, solidifying their position at the top of the Bundesliga table with 67 points.

Meanwhile, defending champions Bayern Munich remain in second place with 57 points after a commanding 8-1 victory over Mainz 05, underlining the fierce competition at the top of the league as the season progresses.
