Tragedy struck in Gidan Busa, Doka ward of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State as bandits launched a deadly attack on Friday night, claiming the lives of two residents and abducting 16 others. According to a reliable source, the assailants, armed with firearms, stormed the village, firing indiscriminately while the villagers were fast asleep.
The brutal assault resulted in the deaths of two individuals, with five others sustaining gunshot wounds. The injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed facility in the area. In one particularly harrowing incident, bandits abducted eight residents from the home of Alhaji Hassan, including his wife and children, and tragically killed one of his sons and a female relative.
This incident comes in the wake of the recent demise of Isyaku Boderia, a notorious bandit responsible for orchestrating several high-profile attacks, including the abduction of Yauri school girls, the Greenfield University attack, and the breach of the Nigerian Defence Academy. Boderia and his associates were neutralized by troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, following a fierce gun battle in the Bada/Riyawa general area of Chikun and Igabi Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
Despite the military’s successful operation against Boderia, bandits continue to wreak havoc in the region, highlighting the persistent security challenges faced by residents. The lack of official confirmation from the state government or the state police command adds to the uncertainty surrounding the situation.
When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, promised to provide updates after reaching out to the necessary authorities. However, as of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued regarding the bandit attack in Gidan Busa.
