Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the prolific striker who previously flourished under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance at Borussia Dortmund, has advocated for the German tactician to assume the managerial reins at Barcelona following Xavi’s impending departure.
With both Xavi and Klopp announcing their exits from Barcelona and Liverpool respectively at the end of the current season, Aubameyang sees an opportune moment for Barcelona to consider Klopp as their next manager. Despite Klopp’s intention to take a hiatus from coaching, Aubameyang believes his former coach possesses the attributes necessary to invigorate Barcelona.
In a statement made on Gerard Romeo’s Twitch account, Aubameyang extolled Klopp’s virtues, asserting, “Klopp gives you everything, energy, he has won great titles, he is a good coach. If there is a chance for Barca he is a good option, I was very comfortable with him in Dortmund. It would be incredible if could come.”
Barcelona’s recent performances under Xavi have been marred by inconsistency, contrasting sharply with their triumphant campaign in the previous season. With an eight-point deficit behind league leaders Real Madrid in La Liga and a disappointing exit from the Copa del Rey, the Catalan giants find themselves in a precarious position.
