Ashwin and Jadeja Lead India’s Comeback Against Bangladesh in Chennai

Ravichandran Ashwin’s unbeaten century lifted India to 339-6 on day one of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, following a shaky start. Ashwin’s 102 not out, his sixth Test ton, came after India struggled at 144-6, turning the tide in partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, who contributed 86 not out.

Bangladesh, led by Hasan Mahmud’s 4-58, dominated the early session. Mahmud struck quickly, dismissing captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, leaving India at 36-3. Despite an early collapse, Ashwin and Jadeja’s 195-run partnership swung the momentum back in India’s favor by the close.

Bangladesh now face a challenging task as they prepare to bat.
