Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has achieved a significant milestone by emerging as the most streamed artist in Nigeria for 2023, according to TurnTable Charts.
The announcement, made on TurnTable Charts’ official X account on Wednesday, revealed that Asake secured the top spot with an impressive 654 million streams. This remarkable feat comes on the heels of his commercial success following the release of the hit single ‘Omo Ope’ in 2022.
Asake’s dominance in the streaming arena encompassed platforms such as Boomplay, Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music, where he accumulated the staggering 654 million streams. The accomplishment underscores the artist’s widespread appeal and the resonance of his music across diverse audiences.
Following Asake closely, Seyi Vibez claimed the second position with 533 million streams, attributed to the release of 2 albums and 2 EPs. Renowned artist Davido secured the third spot with 328 million streams, courtesy of his fourth album ‘Timeless.’
Omah Lay and Burna Boy rounded off the top five on the list, securing the fourth and fifth positions with 301 million streams and 282 million streams, respectively. Omah Lay’s success was fueled by his music, while Burna Boy’s seventh album, ‘I Told Them,’ contributed to his impressive streaming numbers.
