Appeal Launched Against Red Bull’s Decision on Christian Horner Complaint

The controversy surrounding allegations against Christian Horner, Red Bull’s team principal, takes another turn as the woman who made the accusations announces her decision to appeal against Red Bull’s dismissal of her complaint.

Red Bull recently suspended the woman from her position after she accused Horner of inappropriate and controlling behavior. Despite Horner vehemently denying these allegations, the woman is determined to challenge Red Bull’s decision.

The accusations surfaced in early February, although the investigation into Horner’s conduct had commenced almost a month earlier. Red Bull took the matter seriously, appointing an external lawyer to investigate the claims. However, after the lawyer submitted his report to the company’s board, the decision was made to dismiss the complaint.

In a surprising twist, a collection of messages purportedly involving Horner was leaked to nearly 150 senior F1 insiders and media shortly after the dismissal. This leak further fueled speculation about the independence of the inquiry and Red Bull’s motivations behind their decision.

Despite Horner’s call to move on from the controversy, the woman’s determination to challenge Red Bull’s actions suggests that the saga is far from over. If Red Bull upholds its decision, the woman retains the option to pursue legal action against both the company and Horner himself.

Red Bull, however, remains tight-lipped on the details of the case, citing confidentiality. Their engine partner, Honda, has urged for more transparency regarding the matter.

Horner, addressing the issue at the recent Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, emphasized the thoroughness of the investigation conducted by an independent third party. He reiterated his and Red Bull’s commitment to moving forward from the controversy.

Behind the scenes, the controversy has sparked a power struggle within Red Bull, involving key figures such as Horner, motorsport advisor Helmut Marko, and three-time world champion Max Verstappen, among others. Notably, Max Verstappen’s intervention prevented Marko from facing dismissal, showcasing the internal tensions within the team.
