APC Senators Criticized Over Neglect of Federal Roads in Edo State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpehelo, and former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, have come under fire for their alleged indifference to the state of federal roads in the state. At a campaign rally in Ekpoma, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, Director-General of the Asue Ighodalo Campaign, lambasted the two APC senators, accusing them of neglecting critical road projects in their constituencies.

Iduoriyekemwen expressed frustration over the deteriorating conditions of federal roads, pointing out the drastic increase in travel time from Benin to Abuja due to poor road maintenance. He criticized the senators for failing to prioritize these roads as part of their constituency projects, accusing them of ignoring the people’s needs.

Governor Godwin Obaseki, who attended the rally, urged voters to support Asue Ighodalo, the PDP governorship candidate, to continue the developmental plans his administration had put in place, including a 30-year blueprint for the state’s growth.

Ighodalo, addressing the crowd, vowed to implement his manifesto, which he said was based on discussions with stakeholders across the state. He dismissed claims by political rivals who, according to him, were using President Bola Tinubu’s name to intimidate voters, insisting that Tinubu, as a democrat, would not allow state agencies to manipulate the election for partisan gain.
