Ancelotti Praises “Special” Endrick After Real Madrid’s Friendly Defeat to AC Milan

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised 18-year-old forward Endrick as “something truly special” following his debut in a 1-0 friendly loss to AC Milan.

Endrick, who joined Real Madrid from Brazilian club Palmeiras this summer after a deal was agreed in 2022, played the first half before being substituted as part of a series of changes at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Ancelotti highlighted the young forward’s abilities, saying: “He’s very fast, very dangerous in tight spaces, has the ability to turn with speed in little space, very agile in getting himself free, and all these qualities he has means he’s a great talent. It’s rare to see a player with these types of characteristics.”

The match’s decisive moment came in the 56th minute when Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze finished off a slick team move to score for AC Milan.

Paulo Fonseca, who took over as Milan manager this summer, has now secured victories in his first two games in charge.

Real Madrid, missing key players Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo on their pre-season tour, will face rivals Barcelona in New Jersey on Sunday.

AC Milan will next play Barcelona in Baltimore on Wednesday.
