Anambra Police and Joint Task Force Recover Explosives and Abandoned Vehicles in Ihiala Raid

The Police Command in Anambra, in collaboration with the security Joint Task Force (JTF), successfully raided a criminal camp in Ihiala Local Government Area, recovering dangerous materials, including three unexploded improvised explosives. The raid, conducted in Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas, also resulted in the seizure of two abandoned vehicles and other explosive materials, such as copper wires and fuel.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the operation in a statement on Saturday in Onitsha. Ikenga noted that the raid was based on security intelligence gathered over time, leading to a coordinated assault on the criminal hideouts.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, commended the operatives for their success and urged them to maintain the pressure on criminal elements. He reassured the residents of the state’s continued security efforts to prevent criminal activities.
