AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata has revealed that he and his family were forced to move homes after the mayor of Corbetta, a town near Milan, publicly disclosed that Morata had bought a house there. The 31-year-old, who joined AC Milan from Atletico Madrid in July, had chosen Corbetta for its privacy, which was compromised when Mayor Marco Ballarini shared the news on social media.
Morata expressed his frustration on Instagram, writing, “Dear Mr Mayor, thank you for violating my privacy… My only treasure is my children, whose safety you have endangered.” The Spanish forward added that he now had to relocate immediately due to the incident.
Mayor Ballarini, a self-proclaimed Inter Milan supporter, welcomed Morata in his original post, which angered the player. Following the backlash, Ballarini responded on Instagram with a post featuring the Inter Milan badge, accompanied by the caption “Ciao.”
Morata, who captained Spain to their Euro 2024 triumph, has scored two goals in six appearances for AC Milan.
