Veteran comedian Ali Baba has criticized men who pressure their wives to resign from their jobs due to earning higher incomes. Reacting to a viral story about a man forcing his wife to quit because she earned more than him, the comedian questioned the logic behind such behavior.
Ali Baba expressed his views on Instagram, emphasizing that insecure men should be the ones leaving their jobs instead of asking their more prosperous partners to resign. “Who are these women falling for such lies? If you earn more than your man, let him quit his job. Nonsense! Who are these lazy bumcums peddling these stupid narratives?” he wrote.
He further argued that a man’s self-worth should not be tied solely to financial status, pointing out that such insecurities reveal a lack of confidence. “If you are earning N10 million a month, and your husband earns N1.5 million, how does it make sense to resign? That means the man’s confidence is financially driven and anchored. Insecurities my foot,” Ali Baba stated.
