Air Peace has reassured the public that its daily operations will remain unaffected despite the ongoing legal case involving CEO Allen Onyema and Chief of Administration and Finance Ejiroghene Eghagha. The executives face charges from the U.S. Department of Justice, but the airline emphasized that the case is still being processed in court, and both individuals maintain their innocence.
In a statement shared on its X handle, Air Peace stated, “While the charges have been expanded, it is essential to emphasise that both Dr Onyema and Mrs Eghagha remain innocent and these are mere allegations, and the case is still in court.” The airline expressed confidence in its legal team’s ability to handle the situation, adding that “through due process, the truth will be revealed, and our CEO and co-defendant will be exonerated.”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia recently filed a superseding indictment against Onyema and Eghagha, accusing them of submitting false documents to obstruct a federal investigation. The executives have been under scrutiny since 2019 over alleged money laundering activities.
Air Peace assured customers that the legal proceedings would not impact the airline’s safety, reliability, or day-to-day services.
