77-Year-Old Music Icon Reveals Struggle with Severe Eye Infection

A 77-year-old music legend has opened up about his ongoing battle with a severe eye infection that has left him with “limited vision” in one of his eyes. In a personally signed statement, the artist expressed that while he is healing, the process is painfully slow.

“I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” he revealed.

Despite the challenges, the septuagenarian remains optimistic, noting that he is “feeling positive about the progress I have made in healing and recovery thus far.”

Earlier this year, the music icon announced his retirement from touring. His farewell tour, which concluded early last year, grossed $939 million over 328 shows, making it the highest-grossing music tour in history—until recently surpassed by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour, which brought in $1 billion.
