2024 NAACP Image Awards

Nigerian singer Burna Boy experienced another setback in his award journey as he lost six nominations at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards.

Despite being nominated in multiple categories, including Outstanding Male Artist of the Year and Outstanding International Song, Burna Boy failed to secure any wins. Usher clinched the title of Outstanding Male Artist of the Year, while Tems’ ‘Me & U’ triumphed in the Outstanding International Song category, leaving Burna Boy empty-handed.

Additionally, Burna Boy’s song ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage fell short in the categories of Outstanding Hip-hop/Rap Song and Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary), losing to Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Cobra’ and ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, respectively.

Moreover, Burna Boy’s album ‘I Told Them…’ faced defeat in the Outstanding Album of the Year category, with Victoria Monét’s ‘Jaguar II’ taking home the honor.

This recent disappointment adds to Burna Boy’s string of losses at major award ceremonies, including the 2023 BET Hip-hop Awards, 2024 Grammys, and 2024 Brit Awards.

Meanwhile, ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, which emerged victorious in the Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary) category on the first night of the 55th Image Awards, secured another win by claiming the Outstanding Visual Album/Song award on the second night.
