16 Kidnapped Victims Rescued in Kogi State

In a significant breakthrough, the Kogi State Police Command has successfully rescued 16 kidnapped victims from captivity. The operation, carried out in collaboration with the military, followed the abduction of 11 passengers from a Peace Mass Transit Bus and five others from a Sienna bus along the Ette Enugu Ezike Road on February 25, 2024.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, the joint security team swiftly responded to the incident, tracking and rescuing all the victims from the bush unharmed. Efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Commending the swift and effective response of the security team, the state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, emphasized the commitment of the command to intensify efforts against criminal activities in the state. He urged the residents to continue collaborating with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of everyone in the state.
