Friends and coworkers braved the cold winds to celebrate with Greg in the lobby of the post office on December 31, 2008.

Greg Anderson of Newman Grove retired from the United States Postal Service on December 31.
Anderson says, “It has been a great experience and I want to thank all the people I worked with down through the years, as well as the people in the community that I had the pleasure of serving. The Postal Service is a great place to work and I will miss seeing our customers on a regular basis.”
Greg will not be going far, as he will devote more of his time to farming, being active in the community, and continuing his involvement on the national level with a number of soybean related activities and biodiesel efforts.
“The Postal Service has changed a lot from when I first started,” says Anderson, who just completed his 30th Christmas season at the Newman Grove office. “Automation, electronics, and accounting procedures highlight some of the major differences.
“The one thing that hasn’t changed is the local touch we can still give to our customers in giving them good service. I know the Newman Grove office is committed to doing just that.”
A surprise open house was held at the post office the morning of December 31 and was attended by family, postal workers that Greg worked with through the years, and the public.
