Rae Valley events

Plowing Bee at Rae Valley.

Rae Valley Heritage Association held their 26th annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor and Horse Plowing Bee last weekend, Aug. 23 and 24. It was estimated that over 2,000 people attended the two-day show on one of the best weekends, weather wise, in several years.

Lots of members worked very hard organizing the event and preparing the grounds for all of the activities. There were many flea market and food vendors who were very happy with their sales.

Over 20 tractors made the journey from Creston to arrive at the site on Friday evening.

Different events took place during the weekend which many people participoated in including our local Brock Donelson of Newman Grove, who participated in the teen and adult tractor pull and was able to get a full pull of 36’ 3/4”.

Fun was had by many, and many look forward to next year’s event.

The parade of tractors that made their way from Creston, making a “pit stop” in Newman Grove, on their way to participate in the many events in Petersburg over the weekend.
