This year's summertime fun comes to an end
By the time you read these words, school will have already begun. But as we make the transition to fall activities, here’s a last, lingering look at summer.

Swimmers enjoy one of the last days of summer at the Newman Grove pool.

As we shift from one season to the next, we see several changes. The pool closes. Yard toys, which kept so many young hands busy, begin to disappear. Grown ups emerge, preparing yards and fl ower beds for the coming winter, which seems so far away but which approaches so quickly. Bicycles don’t exactly leave, but they are seen more at school and less everywhere else.
Reports from the kids indicate that this was a good summer. They had a lot of fun, and the time seemed far too short. But while some are not eager, it’s time to move forward to a new fall, a new school year, and beyond.
