AWANA camp-out, August 1-2

Pam King

Kids and tents . . . kids and water games . . . kids and marshmallow roasts . . . kids learning about God’s love for them. These things added together can mean only one thing: It is time for the annual Awana Camp-Out at Fellowship Bible Church.

Activities begin on Friday, August 1 with registration at 5:30 p.m. followed by a supper of grilled burgers and hot dogs for the campers and their families. The fun continues with Wet, Wild and Wacky water games and back by popular demand, the everpopular water slide. The fun moves indoors at 8:30 p.m. with an exciting program of singing, skits and a very special mystery guest speaker.

Additional Friday night activities include a flashlight hike, campfire, making S’Mores and late-night video for the older children. Campers will then report to their tents for a good night’s sleep under the stars.

All children going into kindergarten through seventh grade are welcome to attend, even if they have not previously attended Awana. Supper and breakfast will be provided. There is no charge, but a $2.00 donation is suggested to help with expenses.

Campers are asked to bring a sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, swimming suit, towel, insect repellant, jacket and a flashlight. A change of clothes is optional. For safety’s sake, campers should wear old tennis shoes instead of sandals.

Campers will be dismissed at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2. For more information, call Fellowship Bible Church at 447-6322.
