Orphan Grain Train Drive

The Newman Grove Fire Department is sponsoring a collection drive during the month of July for the Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk for urgently needed items for the tornado/flood victims across the country.
Partial list of much needed items: Bottled Water – Plastic Tubs - Diapers/formula – Work Gloves - Shovels – Buckets - Towels - Fly Strips – Bleach - Flashlights - Paper Towels - Toilet Paper – Chainsaws - Blankets - Pillows/sheets - Rakes - canned food – Powdered Drinks - Tarps (20x30, 30x50,20x40, 40x60) – Personal Hygiene items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.) – Batteries (specifically C and D but all are need in some quantity) - Power Tools (Chainsaws, blowers, etc., for rebuilding), Chainsaw oil - Axes - Safety Goggles - Sanitary product for women - Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Disinfectants (Lysol, etc.- in plastic bottles).
The Orphan Grain train has also once again announced Project Scrub Bucket for people along the Missouri River. Each scrub bucket includes: Comet ® or other cleansing powder, Lysol ® or other liquid cleaner, Bleach (1-gal. size), Windex ® or other glass cleaner, Scrub brush, Rubber gloves, Sponge(s), Roll of paper towels, Broom and/or mop.
If you would like to donate relief supplies, please bring them to the Community
Center in Newman Grove on Saturday, July 16th, 23rd or 30th from the hours of 9:00 am tonoon. If you can’t make any of these dates please call Mary at 402-741-1820 to make arrangements for pick-up at your location.
There is also a drop box for food/cleaning supplies donations located in Barnes Mini- Mart.
For those who would like to make a monetary donation a special account has been set up at the Bank of Newman Grove. Thank you for your help.
