Symbol of hope placed at Trinity Church

You can see the shining cross from Main Street, the school and the highway. “It is a symbol of hope,” Pastor Dave Lapka told us.
This is not a simple project. It takes the material, welders, artists, and interested friends to get all the pieces together.
“It seemed to take on a life of its own,” Pastor Dave said. People became excited about putting up a symbol of hope in Newman Grove.
Placed in honor of Brittany Julsen, who would have graduated this year, it was important to get it up before commencement.
Rodney and Yvonne Julsen, wanting to honor their daughter, desired that the memorial would be a symbol of hope.

It took quite a crew to have the cross placed at the church.

“The people involved were touched by this symbol and I believe it completed a need for them too.” Pastor Dave was impressed by the donated time, labor, expertise, etc. to the project.
The shining cross gives a real message to those who see it. “It allows us to draw hope from the tragic events that fateful evening.
