From the Ladies of the Garden

Lynda Pospisil

The summer has been great at the pool park area. Our flowers bloomed beautifully, especially in Matthew’s Garden. Preen did an excellent job for us on the weeds. We were blessed with good rains early on, so the need to water was limited. Our new trees grew to a healthy height with the rain and warm temps.

The vandalism this year was somewhat limited. An umbrella and bird bath were thrown over the northwest side of the bank which we located after searching through deep grasses. Two of our Adirondack chairs, the pink and a white one, are missing. A week before the pool closed, we noticed their absence. What a shame when one tries to beautify an area and another destroys it. Please return them to us. Shame, shame on you anyway.

We want to say thank you for the efforts the hard working Wallin family endured while mowing and trimming the area before the Swim-A-Thon. It looked gorgeous after your thorough work. A special thank you to Doug Pospisil for mowing the majority of the summer, and to Leland Landon for trimming.

Thank you to all those who helped with donations for flowers, plants and trees. It means so much to us.

The sign with the pool hours is being moved to an area where it can be read more easily, and more user friendly for the lawn mowing equipment to pass by.

We will be storing items for the winter and look forward to Spring of 2011 when we can enjoy the newness of growth and experience the miracle of springtime.

There is something beautiful and good about a flower garden. Again, thanks to all our “cheerleaders.”
