Boone County Health Clinic awarded H1N1 Partner Award
Columbus – On August 20th, 2009 the Boone County Health Center was awarded the H1N1 Flame award for “Outstanding Community Partner”. “During the H1N1 planning the nurses at the Boone County Health Center were instrumental in demonstrating to the East Central District Health Department how to set up and operate an efficient school based influenza clinic,” said Rebecca Rayman, Executive Director of the four county health department. The health department would vaccinate a total of 7,000 school children in 40 schools based on the training given by the Boone County Health Center. In addition the Boone County Health Center was the only clinic that vaccinated all the school children in Boone County. The East Central District Health Department was very pleased with the working day by day partnership with Boone County Health Center during the pandemic.
“The work performed by the Boone County Health Center staff was critical in keeping the communities safe in Boone County” added Rayman. The Health Center was very easy to work with and understood their county and how best to provide mass vaccinations to the schools and public.
