FFA attends district LSE’s

Ten Newman Grove FFA members traveled to Howells on Wednesday, November 25, to compete in the annual District V Leadership Skills Events competition.

The day started by getting instruction for the day, and preparing one last time before presenting speeches and demonstrations.

Competing in Creed speaking was Mikala Farrier, who received a blue for her efforts. Also receiving blue was the Ag Demo team consisting of Jason Kaufman, Mark O’Brien, and Brock Donelson, who demonstrated Sprayer setup and troubleshooting. Toni Rasmussen presented a Junior Public Speech on Twin-Row Farming and received a red. Scott Boettcher competed in Extemporaneous Speaking and also received a red for his efforts. Topping off the day was a Gold Plaque performance by the 8th Grade Quiz bowl Team made up by Alex Wiese, John O’Brien, Billy O’Brien, and Jacob Haase.

The FFA members all had a great time throughout the day competing against other members from Osceola, Lakeview, Humphrey, Leigh, Howells- Clarkson, David City, and Schuyler.
