Bulldogs take second and third at State
Kevin Weeder and Ross Sueper
On a sunny but cool day, with the temperature in the 40’s, the Lindsay Holy Family/ Newman Grove Cross Country team finished their season off with a run at the State Meet in Kearney. Both the Girls and Boys teams ran with other teams targeting them because they knew what they were capable of.

Also, the Bulldogs had to compete against larger schools because Class D gets the overflow from the other classes. Despite this challenge, the girls still completed the race with a runner-up trophy 50 points behind Crofton. The boys knew what they wanted but fell short in the end taking third with 68 points behind Hastings St. Cecilia and Ainsworth.
The girls results for the state meet were Andrea Weeder placing first for the second time in a row with a time of 15:18 and Breanna Korus finishing 13th with a time of 16:08. Natalie Korus finished 25th with a time of 16:50 and April Ramaekers was close behind finishing twenty-eighth with a time of 16:56. Coming in 88th with a time of 18:35 was Melanie Fehringer and right behind her was Stacy Beller finishing 89th with a time of 18:39.
