“Night of the Stars”

Friday, April 11th, the Night of the Stars will occur at Newman Grove Public School. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in the old gym.
The evening of performances will begin with the cheerleading dance squad performing Wind It Up! The team is coached by Susan King.
Mrs. Rother has been impressed with the outstanding speech performances of the speech team this year. Several award winning speech contest pieces will be shared during “Night of the Stars.”
Following the speeches, the drama team will perform their adapted version of Greater Tuna by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. The various personalities of the small town of Tuna, Texas, will visit the OKKK Tuna Radio Station. The main announcers for the radio station are Thurston Wheelis played by Clint Leifeld and Arlene Struvie performed by Shiela O’Brien. Helping the announcers are the chorus girls: Mandy Anderson, Lydia Popkema, Kelly Labenz, Celina Popkema, Samantha Stone, and the platter player, Audrey Wondercheck.
The audience will also meet the Bumiller family: Bertha played Katie King, Stanley-Jake Kaufman, Jody-Chelsea Benson, and Charlene-Aubrey Strong. A few other characters fi ll out the cast. Leonard Childers performed by Jonathon Dohmen, Vera Carp played by Ann O’Brien, Petey Fisk- Darrek Schmidt, Patsy Blye-Tenee’ Kopejtka, and Reverend Spikes played by Juan Arreguin.
Students on the crew include Bianca and Adriana Lopez, Tania Arreguin, Lynzee Pieke, Jennifer Reyna, Tanner Krueger, Jordan Fowlkes, Travis McCloud, Katie O’Brien, Olivia Wiese, Devon Doelder, and April Ramaekers.
The ninth grade class will sponsor a dessert bar to round out the evening of entertainment.
