Schools celebrate Grandparent’s Day

Most people enjoy being near the energy and free spirits of children that seems to be lost along the way while we age.

No matter how the day is spent, the children remember Grandma and/or Grandpa was there. Be their inspirations, teach them things mom and/or dad can’t. It will mean more to them than you can ever imagine.

Some are just happy to be able to attend.

Grandparents Day

Janice Tift

My granddaughter, Cheyenne Cleland, called and said “Grandma, you can come to Grandparents Day at school. You can get up to my class this year.” I went, and it was a great day. I got to go since the new wheel chair lift was installed in the school. Thank you, as this year I could go. Thanks to the school for putting the lift in. It was a smooth ride.

Four generations of the Korus family, starting with Great- Grandmother Darlene Korus, Grandparents Tom and Sue Korus, Parents Justin and Cora Korus, along with their children Damon, Daisy and Ivy Korus carried offertory gifts.

Lenore Pfeifer also one of the grandmothers, accompanied the choir on the piano.

Following Mass, the grandparents were given a tour of the elementary building, followed by treats provided by the Home and School Association.

A “Show and Tell” of items that students have today, compared with items their grandparents used or had as a child was enjoyed by the many who attended the event.

Mrs. Deb McPhillips, coordinated and planned the Mass and activities for the day.
