LHF captures District 5 crown

The girls did a wonderful job on Wednesday with the wind at our backs going down to the finish line. eleven out of twenty girls are going down to State Track.

The qualifiers are Seniors- Jenny Frisch and Lacey McPhillips; Junior- Natalie Korus; Sophomores- Tessa Kurtenbach, Torie Wiese, Melanie Fehringer, and Stacy Beller; Freshmen- Breanna Korus, Andrea Weeder, Taylor Bender and Melissa Schumacher.

The girls made in all the relays, 800 meter run, high jump, triple jump, 1600 meter run, 3200 meter run, shot put, discus and the 200 meter run.

The 4x1 relay placed first with a time of 52.60, the 4x4 relay placed first with a time of 4:17.20 and the 4x8 relay placed first with a time of 10:14.90. Torie Wiese placed third in long jump with a jump of 14ft. 7.75in and in triple jump she placed second with a jump of 31ft. 10.00in. Melissa Schumacher placed second in high jump with a height of 4ft. 10.00in.

Taylor Bender placed second in discus with a throw of 104ft. 6.00in.and Stacey Lindhorst placed fourth with a throw of 97ft. 6.00in. Taylor Bender placed second in shot put with a throw of 35ft. 5.00in. Shuraya Frauendorfer placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.50 and Melissa Schumacher placed fifth in the 400 also with a time of 1:07.00.

Stacy Beller placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.50 and Shuraya Frauendorfer placed sixth with a time of 17.80. Andrea Weeder placed first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:53.80, Melanie Fehringer placed fourth with a time of 14:03.50 and Lacey McPhillips placed sixth with a time of 14:35.50. Jenny Frisch placed sixth with a time of 13.50.

Tessa Kurtenbach placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.30 and Taylor Bender placed third with a time of 28.20. Stacy Beller placed first in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.00 and Shuraya Frauendorfer placed fourth with a time of 51.80.

Andrea Weeder placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.70, Breanna Korus placed second with a time of 2:27.00 and Natalie Korus placed third with a time of 2:34.90. Andrea Weeder placed first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:31.80 and Breanna Korus placed second with a time of 5:34.90.

The girls worked very hard to come all this way to Districts. They gave everything they had to get down to State Track. The girls finished first in Districts with 177.00 points.

The boys did a good job too. The qualifiers for State Track are Senior- Alex Schumacher; and Juniors- Kevin Weeder, Andrew Kurtenbach, Kelan Schumacher and Kyle Wegener. The boys made in the 4x8 relay, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, and 3200 meter run.

The 4x4 Relay placed second with a time of 3:45.60, and the 4x8 relay placed first with a time of 8:45.00. Andrew Kurtenbach placed second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.80. Kevin Weeder placed first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:25.10 and Kyle Wegener placed fifth with a time of 11:57.80. Shawn Korth placed fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.40.

Andrew Kurtenbach placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.20, Alex Schumacher placed third with a time of 2:12.60, and Kelan Schumacher placed fourth with a time of 2:12.80. Kevin Weeder placed first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:49.60. The boys finished third with 78.00 points. They worked very hard to come all this way to State Track.

State Track will be next Friday and Saturday. So come and watch the Lindsay Bulldogs show their stuff down at State.
