NG boys basketball players receive honors

Three players from the boys’ basketball team have received post season honors for their accomplishment on and off the court.

Jordan Nelson was selected as First Team All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-State in both the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star, Honorable Mention All-State in the Associated Press, Second Team All-Norfolk Area and Second Team All-Columbus Area. Jordan was also selected to play in the Central Community College All-Star game at CCC in Columbus this coming June.

Darrek Schmidt was selected as Honorable Mention All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-State in the Omaha World Herald, Honorable Mention All-Columbus Area, and received Academic All-State.

Tanner Krueger was selected as Honorable Mention All-Conference.

These honors and more will be recognized at the Awards Banquet held at the School Gymnasium on Tuesday, May 5th starting at 7 p.m. The Newman Grove Boys Basketball team will be holding a Pork Loin Feed that evening as a fundraiser for summer camps. Everyone in the community is welcome. The Feed will begin at 5 p.m. and run until 6:30 p.m. Cost will be around $5. Come support the boys basketball team with food and fellowship before the Honors Banquet.
