Eighth grade students at Academic Contest

Some of the Newman Grove eighth graders traveled to Elgin Pope John on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, to compete in an Academic Contest. There were fifteen schools at the event, and 11 events to compete in.

Newman Grove had twelve students competing in the events including:

Darienne Pokorny, Language Arts, placing first and Pre- Algebra; A.J. Boettcher, History, placing third; Sage Roback, Science; Sabrina Herchenbach, Spelling, placing second; Brock Donnelson, Vocabulary; Nick Flamme, Reading Comprehension; Demi Edgell, Speech-Poetry; Salem Carlson, Speech-Informative, placing third; Mikala Farrier, Speechhumorous, placing third; Jason Kaufman, Trivia Bowl; Toni Rasmussen; Braydon Kopejtka.

I would like to congratulate everyone that competed, and a big congratulations to the students that placed! Great Job- Mr. Rose.
