Tanner Krueger takes second place.

Bowlers knocked out of final round at state

The Newman Grove boys and girls teams competed in the Class D State Bowling Tournament on Saturday, February 14, at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln.

The pins didn’t fall in our favor this year. After bowling four games the girls team entered the single elimination baker’s round in second place. The boys were seeded fourth.

In the first baker game the boys were eliminated by Humphrey High 3-2. The girls defeated Humphrey St. Francis / Lindsay 3-0. The cheers of “Edna” couldn’t keep the team alive as Alma knocked the Lady Jays out 3-1.

Brooke Nelson places third.
Olivia Wiese takes home seventh place.

Three individual bowlers from Newman Grove placed in the top ten. Tanner Krueger was the Class D runner up receiving a medal and certificate. Brooke Nelson placed third and Olivia Wiese placed seventh.

The Class D Champions were Alma defeating Scribner Snyder girls and Dodge defeating the Clarkson boys.
