The trip to Lincoln for the boys comes courtesy of the Wild Card. Joining them in the fight for the Class D title are Dodge, McCool Junction, Leigh, Clarkson, Humphrey St. Francis/Lindsay, Humphrey, and defending champions, Howells.

Class D competition begins Saturday at 8am, with a four-game block and a best 3 out of 5 single-elimination round using the Baker format. Saturday’s competition will narrow the field down to the two teams that will compete for the Class D championship at Sun Valley Lanes on Sunday.

NET, Nebraska Public Television, will televise this year’s finals. The NET broadcast will air on February 22, 8am – 4pm. The Girls finals will be broadcast first, followed by the Boys.

In addition, fans can keep up with the scoring in the finals in real time by going to the Sun Valley website, www.sunvalleylanes.com.

The Nebraska High School Bowling Federation’s mission is to provide all High School students with an opportunity to experience the spirit of team competition and community pride while participating in a lifelong sport, while at the same time elevating the sport of bowling through a state recognized varsity level bowling program for high school students.

For the regular season, Newman Grove boys were in fourth place, 4 wins and 3 losses, with 8,434 total pins. The girls were in third place with 3 wins and 3 losses, having scored 5,826 pins.

We wish both teams good luck at state. Last year both teams were Class D runners up.
